We have presented you with the smallest man in the world a few months ago, and now it is time to meet his female counterpart - Jyoti Amge, the smallest woman in the world.
Jyoti is only a little bit over 2 feet (62.8 cm) tall, roughly the size of a one year old baby, attracting curios people wherever she goes. Her restricted height is due to a growth anomaly called achondroplasia.
She is resident of Nagpur, India and according to the Guinness Book of Records holds the record for the world’s smallest living woman. Jyoti claimed the record as of December 16, 2011, when she became an adult.
“It is wonderful to celebrate my 18th birthday with a new world record; it’s like an added birthday present. I feel grateful to be this size; after all, if I weren’t small and had not achieved these world records, I might never have been able to visit Japan and Europe, and many other wonderful countries. I have put Nagpur on a world map. Now everyone will know where it is.”
